Well, I started out hoping to find a way to create these videos on my own so I could relieve Judy of the chore of holding the camera. Unfortunately, that idea didn’t work out. So, we’re back to her holding the camera and trying to keep up with me. Sorry Sweetie!
As I’ve mentioned before, I meet up with what’s left of our carving group once a week down at the local Senior Center. In the two hours we’re there, between telling the local gossip and any new jokes, I manage to usually finish carving a new character head. As you can see by the condition of my worktable these heads have a tendency to build up over time. I thought a good way to make some room for the next bunch would be to do a few bottle stoppers. This Indian is the first example of this experiment. The head is a lot larger than the normal bottle stopper size but I think it looks pretty good. I apologize for the quality of the first video that I did on my own and also for that one profane utterance that made it by the editor in number 3.
Anyway, I hope you can get something out of this series. If you did drop a comment below. If you didn’t you can drop that one too. And, if you haven’t done it yet, don’t forget to hit the Subscribe button for more exciting woodcarving adventures.
Great carving and painting!! Lynn, you are a master at your craft!!
Your carvings are just Awsome! I have used a box cutter every since I saw your first video. The box cutter is one of my go to knives. Thank you for sharing all your videos they are much appreciated.
Lynn, I am so inspired by your attention to detail. I enjoy watching you work and any stories you add are an extra benefit. I am learning painting tips as well as carving. Thanks for sharing!
