The Base. To me, just as important as the carving. Now I know that not all of you out there will not be able to duplicate what I show here but I’m also sure that you’re skilled enough to come up with your own solution to the problem of mounting your carving. I also know that in showing you the methods I use to accomplish this task might be odd to some more experienced in the art of woodworking. But, this is the way I’ve been doing it for years and it works for me. Whatever you do whether in carving the figure or mounting it just take your time, think through your actions and most of all, be safe.
