June 4, 2014: This carving started out at our small carving group meeting at the Grove, OK community center. I can usually rough out a head in the two hours we meet while still swapping jokes and hearing all the gossip since the prior weeks meeting. – June 6, 2015: Here’s my progress so far. …

And This Is His Happy Face!
Stay tuned! But don’t expect his attitude to change much! Comments welcome.
Starbucks My Patootie! – 5/26/2015
I finally finished this one this morning and it’s been a struggle. Old age has given me a cataract in my right eye which is the one my vision is centered on. Doesn’t bother me that much for distance viewing but up close it’s a real bummer. Trying to do fine detail, especially painting is…
Starbucks My Patootie! – 5/11/2015
Here’s one I just finished this morning. While I’ve done one similar to this before this one is much larger, standing almost 18″ with the base. I plan on a real neat apron design which should really make the carving. Hope you like him. Comments welcome.

“You Don’t Know Jack!”
Actually, you probably do after all the posts lately about him. Here is the other, larger head of Mr. Palance mounted as a bust. I changed the color of his neckerchief a bit by adding some iridescent light green to the black. I also painted the back of his vest with iridescent burnt orange to…
Patterns
I received a call yesterday evening from a new subscriber requesting where he could find patterns of carvings I’ve done. Although you can find certain patterns on the Youtube videos on my channel I thought I would attach a few of them to this post. He also mentioned that he was having trouble moving through…
Red Horse – Finished At Last!
Originally published on March 17, 2014 I gave this one it’s final touch-up this morning so he’s on his way to make a debut at the Kansas City show this coming weekend. He’s a tall one….topping out at approximately 24″. One thing I learned while doing this one…it’s a lot easier on my old eyes…
