The Sheriff

The Sheriff

Wow!  Now here’s a surprise.  I found this photo in the “Sherlock Holmes” folder!  I did this one back in the 70’s.  I’ve always wondered where the photos of that piece disappeared to.  It was probably the  of the first scene I ever created.  Sure wish I had taken more photos of it.  Note the dog on the floor and the mouse setting in front of his hole.  The Hangman’s Noose hanging on the clothes horse is ready for the next bad hombre. Also, the bullet holes in the desk, the cell keys hanging on the desk.   Must have been a rough neighborhood!   Neat!

Comments welcome.

I might be a little man in a big world but on our 30 acres I'm the one in charge when the wife's not around!

One of the first carvings I remember my Dad making and still think it’s one of his best. His early work may not have the polish of his later work, but the attention to detail and personality of the character have always been hallmarks of his fantastic artwork.

I’ve seen mostly only the pieces done in the past few years so it’s really interesting to see how your style has evolved. As Jim said, it’s really helpful to us who use your videos to learn and develop our own style, to see how yours progressed over the years. Can’t thank you enough for how helpful your videos are!! And thanks to your camera lady too!!!
