The Woolaroc Museum in Oklahoma has acquired and just put on display my Dentist scene, “Getting To The Root Of The Problem”? It will join The Stagecoach, Chuckwagon, Saloon, Medicine Show and Frank Phillips carvings to become part of their permanent collection. Talk about proud! I did this piece many years ago as a Christmas commission for the wife of the Oologah Dentist who’s business was in that small town. Oologah was the closest town to the Dog Iron Ranch that was owned by Will Rogers family. That’s Will, riding down main street! The last photo shows a small house across the street from the Dentist’s office that the Dentist had remodeled to look like the little building in the scene. It’s still there! To have my work displayed in such a prestigious museum containing the works of Charles Russell, Remington, and many other well known artists of sculpture and painting is the crown jewel of my career of setting down in the shop with Old Reliable making chips from a piece of Basswood.
